First let me say, having been involved with Sporting Clays since 1979, I’m an old dog out here. Up, down, over and across the US, been there, done that, got the T-shirt…so I’m not easily impressed. But I’ve always been impressed with those course owners who take pride in their shooting grounds and tournaments. Joe Cantey’s 2017 Palmetto Cup, like the rest of his tournaments, was not only organized but “looked professional” from the time you entered the gate and on every Parcour and Field until you were finished with your round. The Prelim, Main, FITASC and other events were all prepared with care and attention to detail. Set for everyone from entry level to Master class, Chuck Frasier’s targets were on par with the very best presentations in the US. Once again, Joe made sure he put a shine on our great sport.
Shooters came all the way from Pennsylvania and New England to experience another quality tournament at Hermitage Farm in Camden SC. For those of us who spend our time and money to attend any tournament, I believe it is fair to expect quality targets and a smooth running match. Joe and Chuck delivered that . . . along with Southern hospitality and very nice weather. On behalf of all who attended . . . thanks Joe, Chuck, Lori and all the good folks who worked in this year’s Palmetto Cup.
